Dell XPS M1330 Crimson Red Laptop Review
The latest addition to the Brandstar Computer list is a Dell XPS M1330 Crimson Red laptop, 13.3″ screen, 2GHz Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB memory, 160GB hard drive, 2.0 Mega pixel Camera, DVDRW, bluetooth, wireless, Vista Home Premium etc. I didn’t see a real need for the Biometric Fingerprint Reader…
When ordering I opted for the 9 cell battery rather than the 6 cell. The only downside to the 9 cell being that there is a bit of a lip on the machine. However on the XPS this lifts the machine up at the back slightly and therefore makes it easier to type! Perfect
This is the first XPS machine we have had to play with at Brandstar and I have to say I am very impressed. It arrived in the usual Dell cardboard box so I opened expecting the usual but it came with much more! Probably the most useful thing was the protective case it came with, the laptop fits in perfectly (without power cord). Because it is so small I think that is then designed to be put into a usual laptop bag but I will just use it on its own!
A leather wallet for the manuals and CD’s was included with a screen cleaning cloth and noise reduction headphones! The final addition I wasn’t expecting was a remote control so the DVD / music can be controlled without sitting right next to the machine. Very nice
With it being a fairly new machine I have yet to play with it properly but it is running nice and quickly, the touch sensitive strip at the top of the keyboard area for volume controls and play/pause buttons is a nice finishing touch. The keyboard has a quality feel to it, the opening and closing of the lid is nice and smooth with an overall solid feel to the machine. Well done Dell!
I’ll do another review in three months or so on how it is performing as a laptop! Might be more useful that me saying how nice and shiney it is
