AVG Internet Security
Ask any client of Brandstar and they will tell you that we highly recommend AVG AntiVirus tools and have done for some time.
Recently at Brandstar we have been testing AVG’s Internet Security Package, mainly its Anti Spam capabilities because the most common irritation our clients are having is with the constant rise in Spam Emails received.
On our travels we have never come across a decent Spam Checker that was worth the time or money to implement but that has all changed! AVG’s Anti-Spam function is fantastic!
So far our setups have been marking any spam caught by AVG as ***SPAM*** or similar and then using the email client rules to direct that to either a Spam_Folder or directly into the Deleted Items depending on the clients requirements! Which is working briliantly!
As with much of AVG’s tools they are far less intrusive than applications like Norton and McAfee yet it is still very easy to configure the Anti-Spam tool.
There is the ability to add your complete address book to the whitelist so you don’t miss any emails from your contacts. This can be completed in around 10 mouse clicks!! Very impressive!
The training tool is also very useful, store up any emails that AVG hasn’t pickedup as spam in a seperate folder. No program is perfect so the odd one or two do slip through, but i have to say this is very rare in my experience so far! Once your folder with missed spam gets enough in there, the training tool from within the AVG Anti-Spam component can be run on that folder alone to educate the Anti-Spam component on what you class as spam! Fantastic!
Other features include a Blacklist, the ability to change how sensitve the Anti-Spam filter is, the option to query Realtime Blackhole Lists and a great deal more if you are feeling adventurous and want to delve into the Advanced Settings!
From our experience this is a brilliant bit of software and well worth a try if you are struggling with excessive Spam. You can try AVG Internet Security free for 30 days and see how you get on! Just click the link and then select the Try link from the list.
